SolarAnywhere® API

Access industry-leading SolarAnywhere datasets and analytics to create robust applications

The SolarAnywhere Web Service provides programmatic access to SolarAnywhere irradiance and weather datasets, and PV simulation tools. The service is exposed via a RESTful API.

Through web service operations, clients can retrieve time-series or typical year irradiance and weather data, and simulate PV system output.

Current available options include:

  • Direct normal irradiance (DNI), global horizontal irradiance (GHI) and diffuse horizontal irradiance (DIF).
  • Wind speed and temperature.
  • Snow and precipitation.
  • Simulated PV power and energy.

Clients can retrieve data about project sites at a number of different spatial and temporal resolutions and incorporate that output into custom software platforms. Data requests can be for historical or forecast time horizons.

The client application starts by providing the latitude and longitude of the project location, and then requesting data for a specific time period or average year.

In addition to providing irradiance and weather data, SolarAnywhere can simulate PV system power or energy production when the client provides information about their PV energy site. The API supports both single and bulk PV simulation requests.
